Alvernia University is currently located in the Cressona Mall, but is looking to relocate in Pottsville. The new location is currently unknown, but they are looking to have the new location up in running in the coming year. Alvernia University renewed their lease in the mall for only one more year. They are looking forward to having students bring energy to the town and help businesses after coming out from a pandemic. They are looking to expand some of their majors especially in the healthcare field. They are expanding these study fields by adding nursing and social work at the Pottsville location. Specifically, the Alvernia Pottsville location will be partnering with the Pottsville Nursing School, the Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing.

            Alvernia University is a Catholic college in PA and offers over 50 different subject areas. The University office hours are currently closed, but there regular hours during the school year are 9am-8pm Monday through Thursday and 9am and 5pm for Friday.
