Bubeck Park has Swan Eggs!

Did you know that there are two swans that live at Bubeck Park in Schuylkill Haven, PA? The two swans have a gated area in the park that are guarded by the Swan Patrol. The Swan Patrol guard the swan’s nest. And right now, there are eight eggs in the nest. The nest is fenced off to protect them. It is near the bandstand stage and gazebo.

The swan eggs were laid on April 8th, usually happens in March. They are expected to be hatched around mid-May – Mother’s Day perhaps. This event attracts a nice crowd, but please mind your manners when visiting. The swans get scared and spook easily and we want them to make sure they take of their young. Once the swans hatch, the fence remains to protect them. But when they are old enough and need to start venturing out, the fence will come down.

Take a drive into Schuylkill Haven and enjoy a nice walk through Bubeck Park. Check out the Swans and their eggs before they hatch and when they hatch. Bubeck Park has a picnic area, playground, fishing area, walking path and restrooms. Enjoy!
